today is sunday, and it has me thinking...

Christ says:
Give me your all...I
don't want so much of your time,
or so much of your money,
or so much of your work.
I want you.
I have not come to torment your
natural self, but to kill it.
no half measures are any
good. I don't want to cut off
a branch here and a branch there;
I want the tree down. I don't
want to drill the tooth, or crown
it, or stop it. I want it out.
hand over your whole natural self,
all the desires, the ones you think are innocent,
as well as the ones you think are wicked.
you give me the whole outfit, and I will give you
a new self. in fact, I will give you myself,
and my will shall become your will.
-c.s. lewis
we all can be doing so much more than we already are.... especially me.
just something to think about.

OH, Jenna! Thank you for the quote. It so beautifully paints the picture of what giving our ALL truly means. I find myself giving what I feel is "enough," but if we are all honest, we will realize that He wants it ALL, and we rarely truly give that. It is a choice we must make every day as to how much of us we are willing to give. I know I'll be working for the rest of my days at letting go of my earthly desires, my nature to hold on to my anxiety, my thoughts I should not have, and my love of control. I'm glad you're honest in your blog. I am too, and sometimes, it's not conventional or what is "acceptable," but I'm not going to paint a false picture of my faith, marriage, or life. I am going to lay it all out there, as I am broken and human. If I put on a show, how is that helping anyone else or furthering Christ's kingdom? Sometimes, my honesty leaves me feeling like I'm the only one with problem X or Y. So I love and admire your willingness to be so true. Thank you for your note and blog- you're an inspiration to me! Peace & Love, Julie

Amazing quote. I must have this quote printed on something and hung in my house. It really does make you think. I also love C.S. Lewis!
