my mother-in-law, julie, makes THE BEST rolls. i'm serious. i want to eat like 800 of them at a time. she sent me the recipe, and i thought i'd share with all of you. you never can have too many roll recipes, but i guarantee once you taste these, you'll never use another one again.
1 cup milk, scalded
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp salt
1 pkg. yeast
3 1/4 cup flour
scald milk, then add butter, sugar, and salt. stir to dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. add to milk mixture. add flour a little at a time. keep moist and springy. let rise until double, about 1 hour. roll out on floured board to 1 inch thick. use a round cutter to cut individual rolls. melt some butter and dip each round-cut dough into it, folding it immediately, and delicately of course, in half. bake 450 for 9 min. enjoy.

Dear friends, I have been patiently waiting for an update on your 3 week rendezvous and i just need an update on that asap. So if you could do that, it would be great!! Love you an miss you dearly.... oh and i am saddened that we will not be able to run in our sports bras this summer, but lets be honest, it will be a miracle if i can even look at myself in the mirror without my shirt on this summer. haha! much love
Jenna - Hi, I dont know you. I knew jake back in the good ol' days. I came across your blog by accident as I blog hopped from one friends blog to another, and I just wanted to tell you that you seem like a BEAUTIFUL person. Both inside and out. Every picture of you is beautiful, and I love your perspective on things. Looks like Jake landed a good one. Just wanted you to know that a stranger thinks your wonderful! (and I hope this comes across as a happy thought - not creepy. lol)
Would that be a package of dry yeast, or the moist kind? Thanks!
Jenna,
I'm sure you don't remember me, but I am Jake's cousin Jennifer (Auntie Jo's daughter) anyway, i wanted to tell you how much I love to read your blog and especially listen to your music. I'll open your blog and just listen to your music. Thanks! Hope all is well and tell Jake I love him...love you too.
Jenn
mmmmmmmm. I wish I was there so you could make them for me. :)
oh yes you posted the recipe! GOODY! I am so excited to make them! I made some home made rolls last week and the recipe was similar but I think these are going to be even more delicious!!
Thanks so much pretty!
I just tried these, and they are GINORMOUS! Did you mean to say roll them out to 1/2 inch? Or is it really 1 inch?
Also, do you bake them just on a cookie sheet?
