exhausted.

when along the pavement,
palpitating flames of life,
people flicker around me,
i forget my bereavement,
the gap in the great constellation,
the place where a star used to be.

i haven't been blogging.  have you noticed?  i haven't been blogging because i've been in the depths of "my sister's keeper."  i have been reading and reading and reading until my eyes became blurry.  i think this is why i appreciate the written word so much.  i leave my own little world and become part of another one.  i become so close with characters that they become a part of me.  i start to identify myself with them, and learn that in some ways, we are alike.  i just finished the book about thirty seconds ago.  for the past 20 minutes i have been crying.  crying hard.  like, really hard.  you would think that something horrible happened to me, when in my own reality, something has.  this book tugged at so many of my heart strings that i seriously don't think i'm going to be able to see the movie.  i will not give anything away in this post, but seriously, i have a headache because i've been crying so hard and i'm starving because i've been sitting on my couch reading for the past 4 hours.
that's all i have to say right now.

I know exactly how you feel about reading, becoming part of the story, relating to the characters, etc. And oh my goodness LOVED my sisters keeper but I too sobbed and sobbed for like...days. I think I cried hard for like a half hour and then would cry randomly over the next couple of days when I would think about it. Heart breaking, literally.

the movie is waaay different then the book. fyi. It left a lot of things/characters out. Which I hate. It's kinda like harry potter...the book is soooo much better!

I read this a couple of years ago and loved it. Such an emotional book! I haven't seen the movie...but I also hate when the movies are so different than the books...

I loved, loved, loved this book. I read it about 4 years ago and after I finished it, I had a hard time finding anything that kept my interest. Really makes ya think, huh? I actually keep a journal of quotes and notes from books that I've read, and this book took up many pages. I probably won't see the movie, because, in my opinion, usually movies, as compared to the books, are horrible...

i haven't read the book(yet) but i saw the movie and it was pretty good. definitely makes you cry. i told my mom after it was over that my sis-in-law who is prego probably shouldn't see it until after her hormones are back to normal.;) i agree with the whole books are better than movie thought as well. and i can totally relate to the "becoming one" with the book/characters, i take care of my childrens' needs but that's about it until i'm done with a book. it drives my husband nuts! :D

I just read that book, and did exactly the same thing! I finished it at like 2am, while my husband was sleeping and I was huddled under my little lamp, crying my eyes out. Oh man. So good, and so sad. I need to see the movie now...but I'm afraid it will ruin it. Now I just finished The Wednesday Letters...if you haven't read that one, it's also great.

Jenna,

I read this book on the way home from Equador. I was on an airplane all by myself and I cried my eyes out, it was awesome. I saw the movie last week, it's much different. I like the book much better.
I miss you and love you.

i love this book (as i do all jodi picoult books), but don't see the movie. seriously. it was awful, they changed everything and made it crap. maybe see it at the dollar, but that's it.
now read "the pact." you will love it!

Most amazing book! Probably my favorite ever. But not the easiest (emotionally) book to get through. I cried SO many times.

funny... i'm totally reading this same book right now. once again... same wave-length. but, i only get about 10 minutes a day in while i dry off after my swim. great book. i want like 2 days of no work, so i can just sit and get lost in it. it's sad though? i can't believe you just ruined it for me... you spoiler. love you biciule!

I have that book, but I'm kind of scared to read it because I KNOW I will cry.
