gestational diabetes

guess who might have it? yours truly. i'm feeling slightly frustrated because my blood count was just a bit high. normal is 140, and mine was 154. therefore, more blood was taken, sent to a lab, and i was supposed to receive a call today. i called... twice. still haven't heard. i know it's not the biggest deal in the world--just requires some diet modifications (which i can handle), but can a girl get some answers here? i just want to know.

well...my doctor told me that 75% of people that take the 2nd test, are totally fine. I was in that 25% that wasn't...so seriously, if you need any support - CALL ME! 240-483-3186. I am not kidding. If you do have it...don't worry. It's super easy to watch your diet when it means a healthy baby in the end. Brixton had initial problems with his blood sugar, because he was no longer taking all my insulin...so he had really low blood sugar, the monitored it for about 8 hours in the NIC-U, but he was fine. They just had to feed him more than normal to get his blood sugars higher. Seriously, don't worry about a thing. You probably don't even have it...but just in case you do, just know that you'll be fine. From a friend who experienced it. My baby was very little. 6 lb. 11 oz. Love you.

I hear most people have to be tested a second time and then they're fine. I was called back in for a second test with both pregnancies and both turned out fine. no worries!
