so we've started our fourth summer. for those of you who don't know, my husband is in sales for the time being and thus we move every summer to wherever he is assigned/chooses to go. you'd think i'd be a pro by now on keeping myself busy, especially now with child in tow. not so much. yes we spent our day today playing, goldie and i. we chatted about life, you know, the important things like nail polish, lip gloss, blush, onesies, poop, milk, and lavender lotion. what i've noticed, however, is that my day today revolved greatly around food. FOOD. ugh. it's like all of a sudden i am starving and can't stop eating. where has my self control disappeared to? it's not like i'm snacking on bad things, but the point is, i'm snacking. i feel like i've been sitting around all day playing on the floor and eating. awesome. granted, jake did have the car today.. otherwise i would've gone and done something, but you know what i mean. i'm totally babbling now, i realize this, but i mean i even had the food network on in the background almost all day. who am i? anyway. the snacking isn't helping my after-baby-weight-loss. oh well. i'm excited to be in a new place. i'm ready to explore with my little buddy. yesterday we found a nice trail to take a walk on...the sky was dark but it looked like the storm was moving away from us. we're walking, walking, and all of a sudden there is thunder. she's asleep in her car seat, bless her, and i put a blanket over her to protect her from whatever was coming. literally two minutes later, it is down-pouring and i am jogging with a non-jogger stroller as fast as i can back to the car. we weren't on a cement path either... debris flying everywhere. puddles. heavy breathing... but it was for my baby and boy you should have seen me run! get back to the car and put her in and believe it or not goldie is still sleeping. what a trooper. adventure number one: check. oh anyway, i have to go make dinner. oh, that's funny. more food. have a great night.

Oh my gosh. I am starting my 4th summer (kyle's 7th - yuck) too! I totally understand the whole eating and snacking and lack of self control. For me it's like "it's summer, who cares". Which is so silly since the rest of my life I tried to get into shape for summer. Now I let myself go! Don't worry, you are in good company!!! I hope you guys have a great summer and I'm sad that we won't be in the same office!

I know exactly how you feel about snacking and days. Welcome to my new life. (except I have no baby!). I miss you terribly.

Quick Question: Do you remember that awesome Ohio sweatshirt that your mom sent you on your mission that was 5 sizes to big? And how I gave you my favorite sweatshirt for it? And how that Ohio sweatshirt is still going around among the sister in Lithuania?

I miss you and Goldie is sooooo cute. She looks so grown up in her picture.

Love you lots.

Thanks for clearing that moving thing up!

Your baby is growing all the time. This means that every time she has a growth spurt, she needs more food, from you. This results in a period of a few days where she seems hungry all the time, and you increase your milk supply accordingly. And it makes you ravenous. Eat healthy, but as long as you're breastfeeding, never worry about how hungry you are, or how often you eat. It's normal!

Just curious, do they teach you this stuff at the hospitals in the US when you have a baby? In Denmark, the government pays for nurses to come to your house every month and check on progress and keep you informed on all sorts of stuff.

(Also, please tell me if you want me to shut up at some point)
