private.

see this little girl? she's harnessed to me in this photo. she's protected... and that's important. i'm going to write this post with as least emotion as possible.

i hate to do it, but i have to make this blog private.

i love to write--it brings me happiness and relief. it allows me to express myself in a way that i can't do when speaking. i can be free, and i can be myself. writing is who i am, in a way. i also love my daughter and my husband. goldie has become the single most important thing in our lives, and it seems like since she's been born nothing else really matters. i like that. we know what's important, and we're very thankful for how much we've been blessed. we've been tossed and turned emotionally since the end of february with things that i will not discuss on here (not things involving us as a couple, but things happening against our family). i'm in protection mode; call me mother bear. as dear as all of you readers are to me, i can't continue to have this blog be public. some things are just too precious. i love my blog. i love sharing my life with you, and i love that you share yours with me. it's been a good ride, and maybe one day things will slow down and i will be able to trust those around me again. but until then, private it is. leave me your email if you'd like to continue reading. i'll do my best to make it work for everyone. my email is jenna.vela@gmail.com, just in case you ever need me.

also...

well, it's pretty obvious that i can't invite you all.  wouldn't that be nice?  so i've decided to create a new blog so that we can all keep the party going.  this blog right here will become private, and i will post about goldie, my family and friends, and thoughts/experiences as well.  the new blog will also be thoughts and experiences, but also things that purely inspire me.

if you don't receive an invite to view this private blog, please don't be offended.  understand that it is what it is, but this new blog will basically be the same thing--minus most family stuff.  i think it's going to be great.

so follow me on over to the new blog.  i'm glad this is going to work for everyone.

I would love to continue reading...I know I've only left a few comments on your blog, but I so identify with so much of what you write. My kids are a bit older than your sweet one (6 & 4) but I *so* remember the identity crisis I felt in those early days - the dream come true of being a mom, yet still wondering who I was and who I was meant to be.

Thanks for sharing your life with so many. My email is azdrews@gmail.com ((hugs))

Hard decision. I know. You will find much more peace and freedom knowing most of your readers.

That being said, sounds like things are a little crazy around there. Maybe we should meet up and swap stories haha? I don't know what's going on, but there is no doubt in my mind. The "battle" is raging.....if you know what I mean. I feel like I'm being taken down from every direction lately. Keep your head above water and if you ever need a listening ear/email friend. You know who to come to!

You are hot.

I came upon your blog via an LDS friend's blog. We haven't met and it's only occasionally that I read your blog, but your writing, and the real and honest emotions you put out there so eloquently for your readers is refreshing and inspiring. The joy, struggles, emotions and real life goings on that you write about, while staying true to and living by your personal believes, is wonderful and different from a lot of other blogs that only serve to make the writer appear shiny and perfect. I"m sure people who you actually know will take precedence over myself, but if you find space for me, I'd love to be added as a reader. :) k.m.mcleskey@gmail.com

Hello Jenna! I found your blog recently through Gretchen Parry's and have really enjoyed checking it out now and again! I understand you wanting to go private (I have a little girl too)--and I have pondered that question with my blog. You have to do what is best for your family. I would love to continue to follow if I can, and feel free to check my blog out and follow as well! Thank you. ;)

Jenna, from the first time I met you, I was amazed at how you LIVED in the world. Your ability to absorb the world's flaws and beauties gave you a pure and candid perspective of life. And now your blog puts that perspective in words. How wonderful. I love to see and read about you and that beyond gorgeous Goldie. I would love to read more.
