projects.

i'm sure a lot of you have felt like me in this way: you have so many projects, so many ideas.... no, brilliant ideas, but where to begin? my mom = flawless seamstress. she made my wedding dress. she sews amazing baby dresses and quilts. she sews ANYTHING, and it turns out amazing. my mother-in-law = project queen of america. she makes these little leather books, hilarious birthday cards, and she's pretty dang good with a sewing machine as well. so much talent. i feel like i've got those genes in me, somewhere, somehow. mom just gave me one of her old but barely used sewing machines for my upcoming birthday, and to say that i was overjoyed and delighted is an understatement. so, now i have no excuses. i've decided that i'm going to sign up for a sewing class and start with one small project. here is the project i'm going for:
{photo and idea from inchmark journal}
and i'm going to buy this book to help me out when i need it and mom isn't around:
once i complete this (who knows when... still working on organizing every nook and cranny in my house before little peanut comes), i will move on to bigger and better things. like maybe a quilt. i've got some amazing fabric. or maybe outfits for our baby.
the possibilities are endless!
anyway, i'm hopeful. have a fabulous day.

Oh I have been feeling the exact same way! My mom is an amazing seamstress and I have SO many friends around me that are crafting queens--I want to learn! I have been wanting to get a sewing machine and take a sewing class as well. Mostly to make clothes- for me, for babies...and aprons, blankets, etc. etc. Let me know if you find a good sewing class! =)

I am also a crafty person at heart! I've always wanted to learn how to sew. Kyle's mom is also an amazing seamstress, and my mom can hold her own around a sewing machine. I doubt I could sew a pot holder! Let me know how it goes and any tricks you learn!

You can totally do it Jenna! I used to sew in high school and then took it back up after Jacob was born. Sewing projects like blankets or ties or change pads or bibs for him, or aprons or bags for me or little girls dresses and frilly things for gifts has been so much fun and just the creative outlet I've needed! Let me know if you need any help with your sewing or projects...I'd love to help!

Hopefully you have an easy, mellow, happy, sleeping baby that will let you get your projects done. The only thing I manage to get done is the bare minimum these days, but my little friend is a busy body who likes her mom by her side at all times!:)
