success.

so i've been wondering what i'm going to do when baby 2 comes.... two cribs?  will goldie be okay moving to a bed?  baby 2 will probably sleep in our room for the first few months, so goldie can stay in her crib if needs be for a little bit, but i really wanted a plan.  then i came across this bed.  problem solved.

Jenna, this is adorable! You should look around, because there are a lot of amazing options for kids beds - that are actually adjustable in size. You start out with a crib size mattress, then you can put in a toddler size mattress (bigger than a crib and smaller than a twin), and then even up to a twin size bed......and the end of the bed is adjustable, like the idea of adding another table flap. cool stuff! :)
So excited for you by the way....and totally stoked that you opened up your blog again.

Trey will be two, and I'm struggling. Everything I've "read" says to wait till closer to 3. But what do they know? Part of me feels like his world will be so rocked with two new babies. To takehis crib too? AHHH. Maybe I'll try it before they come. WHo knows! Where did u find the bed?

hey jenna, i had this dilemma as well and i ended up keeping olivia in a crib. i had an awesome seller on etsy do some custom bumpers for me and i'm kind of enjoying my little pretend twins with their matching cribs, even if i will probably switch olivia to a bed in the next few months. oh, i had them share a room if that isn't obvious. i just kept V with us until she was mostly sleeping through the night and now even if she wakes up, it doesn't wake olivia up. most toddlers are pretty sound sleepers?? plus, you can always get a crib that converts to a toddler so you can get more life out of it. so excited for you!

Jenna....like I said, I'm clueless. Hope it didn't sound like I was saying you were wrong to do it. But, ya, everything I've looked at says "closer" to three - which I'm assuming means closer to potty training. Again, WHO KNOWS. Treyson is really not going to have a choice! I'm totally having anxiety about it.

Jenna, it's Dale. If Goldie is sleeping through the night now or by the time the baby comes I would keep her in her crib. Once she figures out she can get out of that toddler bed and walk around you will be in big trouble. I'm just speaking from my experience with my kids. It took a lot of patience to get my kids to sleep in bed. Add on the stress of a new baby in the house and I know it would be more then I could handle. But who knows, if Goldie is as well behaved as you describe her on your blog she might do just fine in a toddler bed. Your the mom so you make the call!
